Construction is underway at One&Only Palmilla Golf Club on a $25 million transformation of its championship courses, practice facilities, and social golf offerings. The transformation furthers the Club’s evolution into a fully private Club experience, with courses for championship play, practice, competition, and family golf.

Jack Nicklaus designed Palmilla’s original courses, which have held a place in Los Cabos golf for more than three decades. Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design is leading the renovation, keeping the character and strategy of the Nicklaus design while updating the courses with modern agronomy and infrastructure.

What’s Changing on the Championship Course

  • Four new holes, with corridors redrawn and reconfigured across the Mountain and Arroyo Courses
  • Every green reconstructed to modern USGA championship specifications
  • New premium turfgrass across tees, fairways, and approaches
  • Enhanced tee boxes
  • Bunkers redesigned and repositioned for strategy and playability, with new sand throughout
  • New irrigation and drainage systems
  • Reconstructed cart paths and improved sightlines
  • Native planting throughout the courses

The practice facility is also being reconstructed from the ground up, with a full-length 330-yard range, target greens, dedicated short game and wedge areas, and teaching and coaching facilities. A new Par 3 course will be located across the former Ocean Course holes 5, 6, and 7, alongside a chipping course and a 3,800-square-meter putting course. The Par 3 is designed for family golf, junior players, evening rounds, and short-format member competition.

Nine championship holes will stay open throughout construction. The practice facility, Par 3, and Mountain nine are expected to open in Q4 2027, followed by the Arroyo nine and the full 18 in Q4 2028.
